Volunteering for the OU Club of Houston is a great way to meet new people, capitalize on your great skills and learn more about how the OU Club operates.
We're looking for volunteers for each of the following areas:
- Golf Tournament
- Football Radio Broadcast
- Website / Newsletters / Emails
Volunteer for the OU Club Scholarship Golf Tournament!
The OU Club golf tournament is a couple months away, and we need volunteers NOW to help with the Golf Tournament in each of the following areas:
Contest Hole Marshals
Contest hole marshals are needed to monitor contest holes and be a witness to the activity. This will require someone being at the contest hole for the day.
Registration
We need volunteers to sign in players, distribute goodie bags, distribute box lunches, and administer the sale of mulligans, beer tickets and putting contest.
Silent and Live Auctions
For the silent and live auctions, we need volunteers to help set up auction items on display tables for the live and silent auctions.
Golf Cart Runners
We will need volunteers to patrol the golf course and help keep ice available and assist the contest hole marshals.
General Volunteers
We also need volunteers who would like to help recruit people who would like to play in the golf tournament, and identify possible sponsors and donors.

OU Football Radio Broadcast Volunteers:
Weekly Game and Coaches' Show Advertising Log
- Schedule and complete weekly game advertising spot placement log
- Fill out weekly advertising spot game log and submit to radio station
- Schedule and complete weekly coaches’ show advertising spot placement logs
- Fill out weekly advertising coaches’ show logs and submit to station
Skills:
- Type spot ad numbers on the log sheet for each advertising break
- Proofread to make sure spot numbers are correct
NOTE: Broadcast log production is deadline intensive!
Final completed broadcast logs must be submitted to the radio station by a specific day and time deadline.
Radio Advertising Spot Production
- Have a good sounding voice?
- Can you read a radio advertising script cold in the studio?
- You may qualify to help us cut some radio advertising spots!
Corporate and Individual Donor Sponsorship
- Do you have time to contact a few prospective corporate sponsors during the week?
- We can give you corporate sponsorship forms listing rates and benefits, etc.

Web site Administration Duties
- Updating the OU Club Web site copy as necessary
- Write, proofread, edit and publish new Web site events, activities and news articles
Web site Newsletter and Email Writing and Distribution
- Write, proofread, edit and send timely e-newsletters and emails to membership
Skills:
- Web site content management software knowledge
- Graphic software production knowledge
- Newsletter writing, proofreading and editing knowledge
