Awarding scholarships to deserving Houston-area students is one of the primary missions of the OU Club of Houston. The scholarship program is the OU Club’s most powerful giving opportunity and is supported by generous OU alumni and friends.
University of Oklahoma graduates receive one of the nation’s most valued degrees, along with a uniquely rich college experience. The OU Club of Houston scholarship program helps extend those benefits to outstanding Houston-area students, offering them the same outstanding educational experience that our alumni have received.
Your continuing generous gifts to the OU Club of Houston scholarship program assure that the best and brightest students from the Houston area can continue their education at the University of Oklahoma. Your contributions are a significant way to recognize all that OU has meant in your personal and professional life.
The OU Club of Houston offers several different ways to make your tax deductible* contribution:

Matching Contribution
OU alumni and friends can maximize the impact of a gift gifts to the OU Club of Houston scholarship program through matching programs that are most commonly available through employers. More than 9,500 corporations and foundations match employee contributions to charitable organizations.
Most matches are dollar-for-dollar, effectively doubling – or in some cases tripling – the value of donor’s gifts. Some companies match the gifts of retirees and spouses, as well as those of active employees.

Sponsored Endowment
Through sponsored endowments, donors can help future generations of Sooners by leaving a special scholarship in the donor’s name. A Sponsored Endowment leaves your contribution principal intact, with only the earnings from the investment spent for the purpose of funding one complete scholarship. The sponsored endowed scholarship can help outstanding Houston-area students reach their goal of attending the University of Oklahoma, in your name, for generations to come.
Bequests
Many donors choose to make a planned gift through a will or living trust. Bequests can be a specific dollar amount or a percentage of an estate. These important gifts can help many bright, gifted and talented students continue their education at the University of Oklahoma. They also offer a significant tax and estate planning benefit for donors. An OU Club of Houston planned scholarship gift represents the future, and can change the lives of deserving Houston-area students for generations to come.
